On this week’s show, we are joined by a former player who is regarded as one of the greatest defencemen in NHL History – Scott Niedermayer! Scott played 18 seasons for the New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks and is a four-time Stanley Cup champion and played in five NHL All Star Games. He won the James Norris Trophy in 2003-04 as the NHL's top defenceman and the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2007 as the most valuable player of the playoffs.

Internationally, Niedermayer played with Team Canada on many occasions. He is a member of the rarefied Triple Gold Club” having won the Stanley Cup as well as a World Championship, and an Olympic Gold medal. (Scott actually won Two of those in both 2002 and again in 2010 – but who’s counting?)

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2013 - he joins us today just before he leaves to be part of Canada’s coaching staff at this year’s Spengler Cup
