Very excited to welcome "Mr. Game 7", Justin Williams!  Justin is a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion who played 19 seasons in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings and the Washington Capitals. Williams was a first round draft pick, 28th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. In 2014 Justin won the Conn Smyth Trophy as playoff MVP while winning his 3rd Stanley Cup as a member of the Los Angeles Kings. He earned his  “Mr. Game 7” nickname while playing in 9 ‘Game 7’ playoff games, with his team winning 8 of them and setting the NHL record for most career points in a Game 7 with 15, acquired in just 9 games!! Stanley Cup Champion and one of the greatest Calgary Flames of all time, Lanny McDonald joins us this week to chat about both his amazing career, and recently surviving a near fatal heart attack. One of the game's true gentlemen, so happy to have him share his stories of his early days in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Rockies before becoming one of the most iconic members of the Calgary Flames and leading them to their first, and only, Stanley Cup victory. Vincent Damphousse played 18 seasons in the NHL after being selected 6th overall in the first round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs - the first French-Canadian ever to be selected by the Leafs in the first round! He was a steady offensive player for the Leafs for 5 years until being traded to the Edmonton Oilers for a single season, then to his hometown Montreal Canadians. With the Habs, his career climbed by leading the Montreal Canadians in scoring when they won their last Stanley Cup in 1993 defeating Wayne Gretzky and LA Kings in 5 games- it was the last time a Canadian NHL has won the Cup! He eventually became the Canadians Captain before finishing his career with the San Jose Sharks. Dampousse played in over 1300 games and scored over 1200 points - certainly Hall of Fame numbers & achievements, but has not received the call yet..!

Thrilled to have Gary Roberts join us this week!  A 21 year NHL veteran with the Flames, Hurricanes, Leafs, Florida , Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay Lightening. He was a first round selection of the Calgary Flames in the 1984 NHL entry draft and became a Stanley Cup Champion with the Flames in 1989. Roberts was forced into retirement with a chronic, debilitating neck injury, but after a year and half away from the game, came out of retirement in 1997 and played for 11 more seasons. Roberts became known throughout his career as being the best shape of ANY player in the NHL and is now regarded as one of the best off-ice trainers to many of the current star players in the National Hockey League.

New York Islander legend John Tonelli joins us on this week's show!! A 4 time Stanley Cup Champion, and one of the most intense players on the New York Islanders dynasty in the 1980's.  John was also the most valuable player in the 1984 Canada Cup and is the only player in history to score a regular-season goal on an assist by Gordie Howe and another regular-season goal on an assist by Wayne Gretzky..!

Today we are pleased to be joined by the Grim Reaper himself - Stu Grimson. Stu racked up over 2,100 mins in penalties while playing for 8 different NHL teams. At 6'6" and weighing 240lbs, he was known as one of the most feared fighters during his NHL career.  Despite his fearsome reputation on the ice, he also became well known for both his intellect and faith off the ice. So thrilled to have Toronto Maple Leafs legend Mats Sundin join us this week. Mats is an 18 year National Hockey League Veteran and in 1989, was the first European to be selected first overall in the NHL Entry Draft. Sundin is best known as a Toronto Maple Leaf where he was Team Captain for 11 years and is the current Leaf’s franchise record holder for most goals and most points. He finished his career with a “point-per-game” pace scoring 1,349 points in 1,346 games and is the only Swedish-born player to score 500 goals in the National Hockey League. He won three gold medals at the IIHF World Championship and was the Captain of Team Sweden when they captured the 2006 Olympic Gold Medal in 2012 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, becoming only the second Swede behind the legendary Börje Salming to be indicted at that time, and in 2017 was named one of the “top 100 players in NHL history” Sundin's his latest accomplishment ??? Today we are joined by Darryl Sydor, a two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lighting. After an outstanding junior career as part of the Kamloops Blazers and their first ever Memorial Cup Championship. In 1990 he was a first round NHL Draft pick going 7th overall to the Los Angeles Kings In 1996, he was part of Dallas Star’s “big four” defence core that also included Derian Hatcher, Sergei Zubov and Richard Matvichuk - a major reason for the Dallas Stars’ Stanley Cup winning season in 1999. Joe Nieuwendyk was a 20 year NHL Veteran and a three time Stanley Cup Champion with the CALGARY FLAMES, DALLAS STARS and the NEW JERSEY DEVILS. He was also an Olympic Gold Medalist with Canada in the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics!! He was only the 2nd player to score 50 or more goals in his rookie season at that time, and won the Calder Trophy as the NHL's most outstanding rookie! He scored his first 100 goals in just 144 games!!  Nieuwendyk was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017 and was named one of the NHL's best 100 players of All time in 2017. Andrew Ladd is in the house! 16 seasons in the NHL - a two time Stanley Cup Champion with the Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks. Was drafted 4th over-all in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Hurricanes and went on to become one of only 398 players to play in over 1,000 NHL Games! We are very excited to be joined this week by Håkan Loob, a rare member of Hockey’s “Triple Gold Club” which, to be a member, means you must win a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games, a gold medal at the IIHF World Championships and also win the Stanley Cup – all three! Only 30 players in the history of the sport of hockey have managed to accomplish this. Loob only played 6 years in the National Hockey League – all with the Calgary Flames, but in a very short time he had a very big impact becoming the first Swedish player to score 50 goals in the NHL and played in 2 Stanley Cup finals, including being part of Calgary’s only Stanley Cup Championship Team in 1989. We are excited to be joined this week by Denis Savard - a Stanley Cup Champion who was a first round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft,  He was one of the most dominate offensive players during his 17 seasons in the NHL which included a 3 year stint in Montreal where he captured the 1993 Stanley Cup as a member of the Habs. He played in NINE NHL All Star Games, and scored In 1,338 points in just 1,196  games, before retiring in 1997. So thrilled to have coaching legend, Scotty Bowman on our final episode of the season!  We are switching it up a bit with featuring our first coach on the show, but not just any coach - Scotty Bowman is an icon as a National Hockey League coach for 30 seasons! He holds the record for most coaching wins in NHL history, with 1,244 wins in the regular season, plus another 223 wins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Bowman is often regarded as the greatest coach in NHL history. As head coach, he has won a record nine Stanley Cup championships; five with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1970’s, one with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992 and three with the Detroit Red Wings in 1997, 1998 and again in 2002. He is the only NHL coach in history to lead three different teams to Stanley Cup victories. Scotty is now 90 years young and is sharp as tack!! Brooks Orpik is a 2 time Stanley Cup Champion and was a 1st round Draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins - 18th overall - in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft - He played for 16 seasons in the NHL – 11 with the Pittsburgh Penguins and 5 with the Washington Capitals for a total of 1,035 NHL Games. He had the unique opportunity to win the Stanley Cup with two of the NHL’s most prolific stars of the past 2 decades: Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009, and nine years later with Alex Ovechkin & the Washington Capitals in 2018. He is the only player to win the Cup with both the Penguins and Capitals franchises. Named after legendary USA "Miracle on Ice" Coach, Herb Brooks - Brooks is also an Olympic Silver Medalist with the 2010 USA Olympic Hockey Team and is the first Stanley Cup Champion to be born in the state of California – please welcome our friend – Brooks Orpik!

Kevin Lowe is a 6 time Stanley Cup Champion and the first player ever drafted by the Edmonton Oilers!! He was selected 21st overall in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Lowe then became the first player to score a goal for the Edmonton Oilers NHL franchise! A strong, steady, stay at home defencemen, Kevin patrolled the blue line for the Edmonton Oilers for 13 seasons and helped lead them to 5 Stanley Cups before being traded to the New York Rangers where he played for 4 seasons, and won his 6th Stanley Cup! He returned to Edmonton for one more season as a player, before eventually becoming the Head Coach for the 1999-00 season, then the General Manager, and eventually the Vice Chairman of the Oiler Franchise before retiring from Senior management in August of 2022. He also was challenged to a "Barn Fight" in Lake Placid, New York, by then Anaheim Ducks General manager, Brian Burke - True Story!! Watch the episode, it's a pretty funny & crazy story! Patrice Bergeron is a rare member of Hockey’s “Triple Gold Club” which means he won a Gold Medal at an Olympic Games, a gold medal at the World Championships and also won the Stanley Cup – only 30 players in the history of the sport of hockey have managed to accomplish this feat! Bergeron played 19 years in the National Hockey League – ALL with the Boston Bruins, and is considered by most as one of the greatest defensive forwards to ever play the game! Patrice won SIX Frank Selke Awards as the NHL’s best Defensive Forward, and had 12 nominations for that award over the course of his career. Both numbers are NHL records! Don’t be fooled however by all the defensive accolades, this guy could also score goals, especially when they mattered, scoring 2 goals, including the game winning goal in Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals against the Vancouver Canucks. Bergeron is a lock to be a first ballot inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame - enjoy the full interview!

Rick Vaive, a 13 year NHL Veteran who was a first round pick, 5th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft is in the house! Vaive played half a season for the Canucks before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he is best remembered as their Captain and as the very first player in team history to score 50 goals in a season wearing the blue and white. He also held the Leaf’s Franchise record for most goals in a season for over 40 years until Auston Matthews passed him in 2022.

David Krejčí - a Stanley Cup Champion who played 16 years in the NHL – all of them with the Boston Bruins! He is 5th for all time assists for the Bruins, and is 9th all time for points. During the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs he led all NHL players in playoff points, and was a key component of the Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup winning team! He was also a key member of the Czech Republic National team for multiple World Junior, two Winter Olympic Games and two Bronze Medals at IIHF World Championships. Bernie Nicholls, who still holds the Los Angeles King's franchise record for most goals in a single season, joins us today! He is one of only of 4 players in NHL history to score 70 goals or more, and finish with 150 points or more in a single season. The other 3 to accomplish this are Phil Esposito, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. Bernie played in 1127 NHL games, for 6 different NHL teams and finished his career in 2006 with over a ‘point per game’ pace with 1,209 points. He was also named an NHL All Star on three occasions and currently is NOT in the Hockey Hall of Fame - His numbers are very strong - take a listen to what Bernie has to say and you decide! Olaf Kolzig! "Ollie the Goalie" joins us! Great hockey interview with a great goaltender and Washington Capitals fan favourite. Kolzig played more seasons with the Washington Capitals than any other player in franchise history! He was the first Goaltender picked in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft and went on to enjoy a very successful 17 year NHL Career. He was twice named an NHL All Star and in 2000, Kolzig won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender. He played in 719 NHL Games – all but 9 of them were in a Washington Capitals uniform, and is the only Washington Capital player to wear the number 37. He also has a very unusual personal background for an NHL player as he is a German citizen who was born in South Africa, raised in Canada but now works and lives in the United States. Ken Daneyko is a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion who was drafted in the first round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He played his entire 20 year NHL career with the New Jersey Devils setting numerous Devil’s team records - two of which – most games played (1,283 games) and most penalty minutes (2,516), both remain as Franchise records to this day!! He was part of New Jersey's humble NHL beginnings and endured the lean early years & growing pains as the Devils became a model NHL organization, and eventual three time Stanley Cup Champions. Ken's tough-nosed attitude and willingness to sacrifice his own body led him to be beloved by New Jersey fans, and eventually having his number retired by the team.
